B & T Oilfield Products manufactures wireline and slickline downhole tools, flow control equipment and surface pressure control equipment, describing itself as a wireline and pressure control specialist. Components for the downhole tools are manufactured and quality checked in house, and individual replacement or service parts are made for any assembly in the range. Tools are built to fit customer specifications, and a specification sheet is published for each assembly.

Downhole tools and flow control

The downhole range is organized into product families covering:

• Locks and landing nipples

Anchoring and packoff hardware includes the A, A-1 and AD2 tubing stops, designed for integral joint tubing strings where a coupling recess is not available, and the F Collar Stop, which trips its latch springs into the recess of upset and non-upset tubing. The G Packoff seals holes in the tubing and can serve as a plug during well completion where landing nipples were not installed. Baker style items include the FB-2 equalizing check valve, FSB and FWB bomb hangers for landing downhole measuring instruments, and FSG and FWG blanking plugs.

Fishing and tool string equipment

Wire recovery and tubing cleanout tools are a distinct part of the catalog:

• Center Spear, for loosening slickline snarls stuck in the tubing
• Wireline Finder, Wireline Grab and Wireline Retriever, for balling and pulling broken or damaged wire
• Rare Earth Magnets, for metal particles that interfere with wireline and recording tools
• Paraffin Scratcher, a 5/8 inch body threaded with wireline to dislodge paraffin, scale and debris
• Impression Block, a steel housing with a lead core that records the size, shape and position of an object to be fished
• Broaches, Star Drills, 2 Step Chisels and Ring Gauges, for tubing restrictions and wall deposits

Surface and pressure control equipment

Surface equipment covers the lubricator string, stuffing box and measuring assemblies, in the sizes listed below.

Quick Unions and pup joints form the lubricator assembly, with pressure held by an O-ring, and both are made in a range of sizes or to specification. Other items include the Hay Pulley, which moves the wireline from perpendicular to horizontal and reduces friction in the lubricator string, the Hydraulic Packing Nut for remote operation of the packing nut assembly, stuffing box packing and blowout plugs in standard and Viton material, grease heads, and a coiled tubing stripper.

Manufacturing and documentation

Every assembly is inspected and supplied with documentation, and the company states that it updates its quality control procedures so tools operate safely. Pressure control, packing and technical information is provided on customer request.

Technical support is offered before and after the sale, including operating, assembly and disassembly instructions for the wireline and slickline assemblies.
