Bureau Veritas
Testing, inspection and certification company covering oil and gas exploration, refining, transportation and storage, plus commodities, marine and offshore.
Bureau Veritas provides testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services across industrial, energy, commodity and consumer markets. The work spans laboratory testing, product and asset inspection, third-party audits, certification against international standards, and technical consulting. Services are delivered through a global network of laboratories, offices and field inspectors rather than from a single site.
Oil, gas and commodities
Oil and gas coverage is organized into four segments:
- Exploration and production
- Refining and processing
- Special chemicals
- Transportation and storage
Commodities work runs alongside it, covering base and commodity chemicals, metals and minerals, mining, and oil and petrochemicals. Marine and offshore is listed as a separate market, and the company acts as a classification society for the containerships and bulk carriers used to move goods internationally.

Several service lines are offered across every market served:

Transport equipment and container inspection
Type approval and initial inspections are performed on tank containers, and the company states that the majority of tank containers on the market today were initially inspected and certified by Bureau Veritas. Statutory in-service inspections cover portable tanks, tank swap-bodies and tank containers intended for the carriage of dangerous goods, with voluntary non-regulatory inspections available at an owner's request. Box container services include periodic inspections under CSC regulations, ACEP audits, on-hire and off-hire inspections, and cleanliness verification, recorded through the company's HERMES digital platform.
