ChampionX supplies production chemistry, artificial lift equipment, automation and optimization software, and drilling technologies to upstream and midstream oil and gas operators worldwide. The company describes itself as serving the industry for over a century, with work spanning the well lifecycle from drilling and completion through production, transportation and emissions monitoring. Its operating businesses include Norriseal Wellmark for valves and flow control, Wellmark for chemical injection, and ChampionX Emissions Technologies for leak detection and emissions quantification.
Production and midstream chemistry
Chemical programs cover asset integrity, flow assurance and production maximization. The company states it has built onshore and offshore asset integrity programs for more than 50 years, covering deep hot gas wells, gathering systems, rod-pumped wells and ESP wells, and describes itself as the largest supplier of specialty corrosion chemistries: corrosion inhibitors, gas treatment, H2S scavengers and biocides.
Corrosion work is supported by laboratory simulation of the operating environment, including:

The patented Clean n Cor is a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor formulated to clean fouled systems and inhibit corrosion at the pipe surface at the same time.
Flow assurance and production maximization
Flow assurance work addresses deposit control, pour point depression and pipeline cold restart, on topside and umbilical applications. Asphaltene management is approached by recreating the specific system in a lab before selecting a treatment. The low dose hydrate inhibitor portfolio includes anti-agglomerates and kinetic hydrate inhibitors, backed by a modeling program used to predict where hydrates will form in a given system.
Production maximization chemistry targets oil and water separation, foam, heavy crude viscosity and flowback, and includes drag reducers that lower frictional pressure in pipelines.
Chemical qualification
SurFlo Enhanced is the company's umbilical qualification process for subsea chemicals. It states the testing methods often exceed API 17TR6 and qualify products to 35 degrees F for ultradeep conditions. A separate SurFlo gas lift qualification tests chemical packages under simulated pressure, temperature and reservoir fluid conditions.
Artificial lift
Downhole and surface equipment covers all the main lift methods:
- Electrical submersible pumping systems, with pumps, motors, gas handlers, protectors, sensors, cable and surface controls
- Gas lift mandrels, valves, packers, capillary and gauge systems and downhole sensors
- Jet lift, including jet pumps and multiplex plunger pumps
- Plunger lift, with plungers, surface equipment and 8000 Series controllers
- Progressing cavity pumps, driveheads and variable speed drives
- Rod lift, including sucker rods, AnX coiled rod, specialty rod pumps and the HFX cage
- Saltwater disposal using ANSI centrifugal pumps and skid packages

Well construction and completion chemistry covers drilling fluid and mud additives, cementing chemicals, and acidizing and fracturing chemicals, alongside enhanced oil recovery services and well intervention. Midstream offerings include UltraFab H2S removal systems, water treatment utilities, consulting services and the RenewIQ water treatment program. In June 2025 the company was the oilfield services provider on a Gold H2 field trial in California's San Joaquin Basin demonstrating subsurface bio-stimulated hydrogen production.
