Ironclad Performance Wear

Ironclad Performance Wear designs and sells task-specific work gloves and personal protective equipment from Grand Prairie, Texas. Ed Jaeger founded the company in 1997 after tradespeople on a home build told him the gloves then available were too bulky and too hot, came in one size, and made it hard to feel a tool. The company states it has been granted 30 patents globally and owns more than 70 trademarks worldwide. International sales are handled as a separate channel.

Construction and ratings

Palm materials across the range include nitrile in flat, foam, microfoam and sandy finishes, polyurethane, silicone, crinkle and sandy latex, Armortex, and leather in goatskin, cow grain, deerskin and pig. Knit gauges run 13G, 15G and 18G. Named technologies include Command Touchscreen, Duraclad, Hotshield, ILT yarns, Cut 360, Limitless leather, a hybrid safety cuff, and construction made with DuPont Kevlar.

The Command A6 Full SN Impact WP is listed as a 15 gauge HPPE and steel blended knit with a full dip nitrile base coating, a sandy nitrile touchscreen palm, and low-profile TPR rated to ANSI Level 2 impact. Its grip is rated 5 of 5 dry, 4 of 5 wet and 3 of 5 oily.
