JM Test Systems sells, rents, calibrates and repairs test, measurement and electrical safety equipment, and has done so since 1982. The company describes itself as coming from a utility background, with test equipment as its only line of business. It operates an ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540.1 laboratory accredited by A2LA, providing traceable calibration and repair, and states that it complies with ISO 10012-1.

The company states it has more than 500 personnel on staff and covers the United States with pick up and delivery. Stock is held at multiple locations so orders ship from the nearest one. A customer calibration portal gives access to calibration certificates online.

Calibration and repair

Traceable calibration has been offered since 1982 across electronic instruments and a range of mechanical and process disciplines:

• Pressure and temperature calibration
• Torque calibration, covering wrenches, testers, multipliers and pneumatic and hydraulic tools
• Vibration and dynamometer calibration
• Megger and micrometer calibration
• PIM analyzer calibration

Onsite mobile instrument calibration and metrology laboratories are managed through the fixed facilities and are treated as an extension of them. Pick up and delivery runs alongside the onsite work.

Field services, PPE testing and training

Field services supply qualified inspectors and testing personnel for turn-key projects and for supplemental support during construction, startup and outages. A dielectric testing laboratory handles PPE testing and glove testing. Tool repair covers battery tools, hydraulic tools, and mechanical and chain hoists.

Electrical safety training is delivered by a CESCP and CESW certified electrical specialist, and is offered for both non-electrical personnel and qualified electrical workers.

Equipment sold and rented

The company describes its rental inventory as one of the largest in the industry for instrumentation and controls, electrical, dimensional and mechanical test equipment. Categories carried for sale and rental include:

Refurbished and surplus used test equipment is stocked as well, alongside pressure fittings and tubing. Named brands include Anritsu, Fujikura, Kaelus, Megger, Fluke, Amprobe, Greenlee, Klein Tools, Huskie Tools, Cembre and TorcUP.

Electrical safety equipment

Insulated rubber gloves are stocked in Class 00 through Class 4 from Salisbury, Chance and PIP, with leather protectors, liners, carrying bags, talc and full kits available. All new gloves are tested to ASTM D120 and ASTM F496 before leaving the facilities.

Arc flash suits and kits run from 8 cal/cm2 to 100 cal/cm2, from OEL Worldwide Industries, Salisbury Pro-Wear Plus and Steel Grip. Hot sticks cover telescopic, shotgun, switch, disconnect, measuring and static discharge types from Hastings, Salisbury, Utility Solutions Blue Stripe and Amprobe. Grounding clusters are supplied as 3 and 4 wire universal sets, single ground assemblies and 4 way sets, for purchase or rent, with a custom cluster builder for non-standard configurations.
