The company states that its staff bring more than 100 years of combined experience across engineering, surveying, geoscience, and construction inspections.

Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineers supervise engineering deliverables across multiple states. The practice covers site and infrastructure design as well as water and environmental work:

  • Civil and site design
  • Water resources, drainage, and stormwater
  • Highway and street design
  • Subsurface utility engineering
  • Construction documents
  • Groundwater availability certification
  • Environmental services

Land surveying

Every survey is performed or supervised by a licensed RPLS. Survey types listed include boundary and topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, right of way, and oil and gas surveys, along with drone and UAV survey work using LiDAR and GIS and mapping deliverables.

Construction materials testing

Magrym operates an AASHTO accredited materials testing laboratory in Midland. Technicians are ACI certified in Field, Lab, Strength, and Base Course, and APNGA certified for nuclear densometers. Testing runs from field sampling through chain of custody documentation to certified reports.

  • Soils: Proctor compaction, in-place density by nuclear gauge, ASTM classification, subgrade characterization
  • Concrete: compressive strength cylinder breaks, slump, air content, unit weight, field sampling and curing
  • Asphalt and aggregates
  • SFRM fireproofing to ASTM E605 and E736
  • Concrete and pavement coring

Geotechnical engineering

The geotechnical program is led by Erica M. Hart, PG, Vice President, described on the site as bringing 22 years of engineering geology and project management experience. Work covers commercial developments, energy facilities, roadways, schools, hospitals, and industrial sites throughout West Texas and Southeast New Mexico.

Subsurface services include foundation evaluations with bearing capacity and settlement analysis, soil borings and classification, and groundwater assessment covering water table determination, permeability testing, and dewatering recommendations. Investigation programs range from test pits and SPT borings to geologic mapping, slope stability analysis, and pavement design for lease roads. Samples move from field to lab to report within the same firm.

Construction and code inspections

Magrym is an approved third-party special inspection agency serving Midland, Odessa, and project sites across West Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Two scopes are offered and are often paired on the same project: Special Inspections under IBC Chapter 17 covering steel, concrete, soils, SFRM, and anchorage, and construction observation as Owner's Representative under AIA B101 or EJCDC E-500.

Inspections are carried out by ICC certified Special Inspectors, with the Final Statement of Special Inspections signed and sealed by a licensed PE. Steel and rebar inspection covers welding to AWS D1.1, high-strength bolting (A325, A490, F3125), rebar size, spacing and lap, and post-installed anchorage per ACI 318 Chapter 17. Welding inspection is delivered through an AWS Certified Welding Inspector partner, coordinated by Magrym.
