New Mexico Junior College Workforce Development

New Mexico Junior College runs a Workforce Development Division in Hobbs, New Mexico, which delivers continuing education and industry training rather than field services. The division describes itself as a resource specializing in continuing education, facility rental, automation and industrial systems, oil and gas technology, transportation training, and workforce training. It also houses the New Horizons Foundation and the Small Business Development Center.

Millen Dr. The division references a 20,000 square foot training facility. Facilities scheduling and rental are handled through the division, and community trainings and events are hosted on campus.

The college behind the programs

New Mexico Junior College awards Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees, along with certificates in the business and industry trades. The campus covers 243 acres and 36 buildings, including the Industrial Technology Center, with roughly 2,500 students and 260 full-time employees. The college states that it fills an educational need for Lea County and the surrounding area. Workforce Development is led by a vice president at the executive cabinet level, with a Dean of Workforce Training and Professional Studies over the training programs.
