NM Ready Mix
Third generation family-owned supplier of ready mixed concrete, sand, gravel and landscape rock, serving Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas from Hobbs and Roswell since 1959.
NM Ready Mix is a third generation, family-owned supplier of ready mixed concrete, sand, gravel and construction aggregate. The company has served Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas since 1959, working from yards in Hobbs and Roswell, New Mexico, and also operates under the names Lea County Concrete and Roswell Ready Mix. Materials go to residential, commercial and industrial projects, supplied to professional construction firms and do-it-yourself customers alike.
Ready mixed concrete
Concrete is batched off site and arrives ready to pour, so no bags are mixed at the job site. Mix proportions are varied so the finished product can be tailored to its application, with differences in strength, density, and chemical or thermal resistance.
Mixes are built from aggregate, Portland cement and water, with admixtures used to adjust how the concrete behaves:
- Chemical admixtures that accelerate or slow hardening, or add tensile strength, air entrainment and water resistance
- Mineral admixtures including fly ash, silica fume and ground granulated blast furnace slag
- Iron oxide pigments for colored concrete on patios, driveways and flooring, in a range of shades
Aggregate, sand and gravel
Aggregate is mined from five quarries, with quarry locations in Lea County and Roswell. Fine aggregate covers sand, crushed stone and gravel screenings, used for thin slabs and where a smooth surface is wanted. Coarse aggregate covers gravel, caliche and shot rock for heavier work.
Aggregate is supplied for drainage applications, foundations, septic drain fields, retaining wall drains and road or rail base, alongside its use as a component of concrete and asphalt. State Spec Base Course is stocked for construction projects.
Landscaping materials
Landscape rock is carried in sizes from chips up to 6 to 8 round rock, with sand, gravel and crushed aggregate available for the same projects. These materials are offered for contractor work and homeowner projects across Southeastern New Mexico.
Delivery and coverage
A fleet of more than 20 trucks handles delivery and scheduling. Crews transport and pour concrete and dump aggregate at the job site, across Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas.
The company describes its team as having more than 100 years of combined experience, made up of people born and raised in the Southwest, and states that it has supplied concrete and landscaping materials in New Mexico and Texas for more than 50 years.
