Sensirion Connected Solutions develops sensor-based IoT systems for continuous methane emissions monitoring in the energy sector. The end-to-end platform pairs proprietary methane sensing and optical gas imaging technologies with data analytics, root-cause diagnostics and field support, covering the detection, localization and quantification of emissions. Monitoring systems

Three product lines cover different distances from the emission source:

• Nubo Sphere, a fenceline continuous monitoring system, offered for onshore and offshore sites
• Nubo Sentry, a close-proximity solution that is intrinsically safe, battery powered and designed for placement near potential emission sources
• Kuva, an optical gas imaging camera that visualizes methane plumes at the source

The Kuva camera uses short-wave infrared imaging combined with RGB visualization to detect, locate and quantify methane directly at the source, with minute-by-minute visualization. Each detection goes through a false-positive review, and the resulting high-resolution visual records support remote root-cause analysis and emissions accounting for upstream and midstream operations.

Regulatory approvals and reporting

Both Kuva and Nubo Sphere carry US EPA approvals covering periodic screenings. The Kuva camera was approved as an Alternative Test Method for periodic screenings under NSPS OOOOa/b in October 2025, and an alternative technology approval for periodic screenings with Nubo Sphere is published with an April 2026 date. The company states that Nubo Sphere delivers methane quantification with uncertainty low enough to meet OGMP 2.0 Level 5 reporting requirements.
