Geotechnical services
Geotechnical work runs from preliminary geotechnical and geologic hazard studies through design and construction phase services, and includes post-construction forensic investigations. Studies consist of site subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, engineering analysis and report preparation, with drilling capabilities that include dynamic cone penetrometer and Geoprobe services.
An in-house laboratory performs moisture content, density, classification, Atterberg limits, gradation, proctor and swell-consolidation testing, following procedures from ASTM, AASHTO, ACI and the Corps of Engineers. Construction materials testing examines soil, concrete, asphalt and other materials used on a project. Services frequently extend to geotechnical review of plans and specifications and consultation during construction.
