WBS Coatings

WBS Coatings is a commercial and industrial painting and coating contractor. The company states that the name stands for Worth Beyond Spec and that it has been in the trade for more than 35 years. Its work extends past painting into internal pipe coatings, tank linings, containment liners and concrete repair, and it performs coating and construction inspection on assets it did not originally coat.

Oil and gas work

Crews coat and paint above ground and underground pipelines, inside and out, to protect lines against corrosion and abrasion. Facility work covers gathering facilities, tank batteries, compressor stations, launchers, receivers and tie-ins, and oil storage tanks. Prefabricated skids and associated equipment are sandblasted, coated and painted, and existing skid coatings are inspected to confirm the right system was used.

Tanks, potable water and wastewater

A dedicated tank rehabilitation team handles interior and exterior tank coatings, tank liners, cathodic protection, MFL scans, hatch and vent replacement and full tank rehabilitation. Steel, concrete, above ground and below ground tanks are all covered. Potable water storage tank rental, temporary potable water systems, pump stations and ongoing system maintenance round out the water side.

Wastewater work covers manhole coatings, lift stations, clarifiers, grout injection, epoxy concrete coatings, concrete repair, internal pipe coatings and wastewater liners.

Surface preparation and abatement

Surface preparation is treated as a required step before any coating goes on, with sandblasting used to strip dirt, rust and other contaminants so the coating adheres. Blasting, coating and painting are carried out both in the company's own facility, which it describes as set up for high volume projects, and in the field through a separate mobilization capability. Lead paint abatement and removal is offered on commercial and industrial buildings.
